ASOMBROSO CHILDREN'S HEART SURGERY FUND

The AsomBroso Children’s Heart Surgery Fund was established in 2004 to support the efforts of Instituto de Ciencias Cardiovasculares, A.C. (the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences), a Mexican foundation established to provide heart surgeries for indigent children.

This is truly a cross-cultural and cross-border effort, with cardiac specialists from the United States flying to Mexican hospitals and donating their time and expertise to help children with life-threatening heart problems. The expenses of each child’s surgery and post-op recovery are covered through funding by the AsomBroso Children’s Heart Surgery Fund in concert with the Instituto de Ciencias Cardiovasculares, A.C.

The AsomBroso Children’s Heart Surgery foundation is funded in part by direct donations from private individuals, donations made through various AsomEvents held in conjunction with AsomBroso tequila, and donations made by purchasing tequila products provided gratis to the foundation by AsomBroso Tequila. "The Mexican people have been very open and supportive of our efforts to make tequila and to expose the culture and heritage behind tequila, and this is my way of giving back", explains Rick "Ricardo" Gamarra when asked about the background of his involvement.

The AsomBroso tequila connection is also a way for tequila aficionados to help "give back" too! Experience fine food, great tequilas and unique wine while supporting a worthwhile cause... The Fiesta de Tequila events support the efforts of the AsomBroso Children’s Heart Surgery Fund by donating a portion of the entrance fees and also donating items for silent auctions to the foundation which benefits the children in need.
